ELA 052 - English Language Acquisition - Speaking and Listening III

Prerequisites
Appropriate CASAS assessment score, a passing grade in ELA 047, or instructor permission.

This course is a continuation of speaking and listening skill development designed for a student to improve their speaking and listening skills with a goal to develop the skills needed to communicate more effectively within a college setting, job, or personal life. The class will also include content on how to understand basic math concepts often communicated verbally.

Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will:

Show comprehension of a variety of college/career-related texts
Develop vocabulary to improve reading skills
Apply reading strategies to improve comprehension of texts
