BASM 309 - Project Management - Time Goals and Budget Management 5 credits
Prerequisites Admission to the BASOM or BS program.
Students will develop the basic tools, knowledge and skills necessary for successful project management. All phases of the project management process, including: initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing will be assessed. Areas of leadership, communication and budgeting in relation to project management will also be critiqued.
Course Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
•Apply suitable methodologies to plan a new project from initiation through completion.
•Design and manage project and program processes to ensure effective execution and alignment with organizational goals.
•Describe and evaluate the stages of the project life cycle-including initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing-to effectively manage project progression.
•Assess key schedule, cost, and performance elements using both quantitative and qualitative techniques to identify project strengths and risks.
•Develop a comprehensive and realistic budget for a new project that supports strategic resource allocation and project objectives.
