BASM 407 - Professional Ethics and Social Responsibility 5 credits
Prerequisites Admission to the BASOM or BS program.
Professional Ethics and Social Responsibility analyzes the ethical responsibilities of managers and leaders within organizations. Students will assess difficult ethical conflicts and dilemmas and originate plausible frameworks for addressing those conflicts. The course will engage students in the critical evaluation of managerial and leadership ethics.
Course Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
•Understand the foundational theories of ethics and their application in leadership.
•Evaluate the role of personal values in ethical decision-making.
•Develop critical thinking skills to navigate moral dilemmas in the workplace.
•Investigate the role of ethics in corporate governance and accountability.
•Explore whistleblowing and ethical reporting mechanisms within organizations.
