BASM 408 - Facilitating Change/Development 5 credits
Prerequisites Admission to the BASOM or BS program.
Students will analyze and navigate both planned and unexpected changes by evaluating change theories and models. They will assess change strategies, implement initiatives, secure stakeholder commitment, address resistance, and sustain progress within teams and organizations. Emphasis will be placed on applying these frameworks to effectively manage change in dynamic internal and external environments.
Course Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
•Explain the need for ongoing organizational change and methods for achieving the change
•Understand and how planned change can make organizations more effective
•Examine the roles played by various organizational members in change efforts
•Apply communication, conflict management, and problem-solving skills that are required to promote positive change
•Explain how corporate culture affects change
