ANTH& 100 - Survey of Anthropology 5 credits
Prerequisites Eligible for ENGL& 101 or concurrent enrollment in ENGL 095 , or instructor permission.
Survey of the fields which make up anthropology: physical anthropology, archeology, ethnology, social anthropology with an exploration of both ancient and modern societies.
Theory Hours 5 theory hours.
AA Specified Elective Satisfies social science distribution area C requirement or specified elective for the AA degree.
Course Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Define and discuss the basic best practices and key questions of the four major sub-disciplines of anthropology.
- Define and begin to practice anthropological research methodology and techniques.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the development of human society over time and how it relates to modern problems such as diversity, sustainability, and globalism.
