AUTO 203 - Transmissions/Drive Train


4 credits

Prerequisites
Placement in MATH 060 ENGL 060 , and READ 090 .  AUTO 103  and AUTO 202 .

This course builds on Auto 103 and teaches skills to meet Automotive Service Excellence Education Foundation (ASEEF) Automotive Service Technician standards under automatic transmission and transaxles and manual drive train and axles. This course is a study of the vehicle power train and methods of delivering power from the engine to the drive wheels. Topics of study will include details of power flow in a manual transmission/transaxle and automatic transmission/transaxle, gear ratios, driveline components and construction, differential components, clutch systems, transfer cases, and drive axles.
