AUTO 286 - Advanced Automotive Engine Performance


4 credits

Prerequisites
Placement in MATH 060 ENGL 060 , and READ 090 .  AUTO 206  or co-enrollment.

This course builds on Auto 206 and teaches skills to meet Automotive Service Excellence Education Foundation (ASEEF) Master Automotive Service Technician standards under Engine Performance. This course is a study of the equipment that is used in diagnosing the modern automobile. This course will include the use of diagnostic equipment such as, current industry engine analyzers, lab scopes, scanners, multi-gas analyzers and various meters and sensor testers. Ignition systems in current use, tune-ups and troubleshooting with electrical and electronic test equipment will be emphasized.
