AUTO 107 - Service Writing for the Automotive Industry


8 credits

Prerequisites
Placement in MATH 060 ENGL 060 , and READ 090 .

Corequisites
INDT 101 .

This course prepares you for the front-line position at a dealership or auto repair facility. Students will learn to write accurate shop repair orders and be able to quickly and efficiently analyze customer concerns. As a Service Consultant, you will play a key role in converting a customer’s description of a problem into a shop repair order and sale. The course work will develop a student’s understanding of the major automotive systems and their ability to communicate malfunctions to a customer. The proper calculations of repair costs and the completion of industry recognized digital repair orders will also be covered in the course work. This course prepares students for the ASE Automobile Service Consultant Certification Test (C1).
