AUTO 284 - Advanced Automotive Steering and Suspension 4 credits
Prerequisites Placement in MATH 060 , ENGL 060 , and READ 090 . AUTO 204 or co-enrollment.
This course builds on Auto 204 and teaches skills to meet Automotive Service Excellence Education Foundation (ASEEF) Master Automotive Service Technician standards under Steering and Suspension. This course is a study of automotive steering, suspension, and alignment procedures currently in use by the automotive industry. This course provides application of conventional and strut-type suspension systems. The student is introduced to conventional and rack and pinion types of steering systems, applies two-wheel and four-wheel alignment procedures. Emphasis is placed on alignment angles and diagnosing unseen problems from these angles.
